Adventure with Strangers

So next summer I will be traveling alongside with Connor, Elena, and Stephanie for the first time. It will be a long adventure, but I am sure that the four of us will either become close, or want to kill each other by the end of the trip. Either way, the trip is packed full of fun events, i.e. strippers, nude beaches, camping, Vegas, coffee, coffee, coffee, and good spirits. All in all, this undertaking will be a memorable one.

$mall Update

Hey all! Connor here.

This past week I started walking a dog. I also work at my church on the weekends. ALL OFF THE BOOKS. So I get to keep it all, no taxes, straight into my AK16 fund (thats what I call the trip for short). Im sorry I havent posted in ages. Ive been busy with college. I'm also looking into transferring so there's that too. Other then that not much is new, well the trip starts in less the 500 days now! We're all super excited about that. We now only have 494 more days. Not THAT far off now is it? I guess its news thats part of the trip. I finally got my license so I can actually help Step and Elena drive. So YAY! Im also getting a car soon. Well thats all Ive got to say for now. Its a lame one, but its an update.

Vegas (and strippers... Baby!)

The title says it all. Our last official stop is fabulous Las Vegas. After a long day of driving we’ll need one more stop to rejuvenate before getting back to Phoenix. Plus how can you NOT stop in Vegas? It’s going to be a great place to have one last hurrah. Vegas will be a bittersweet stop. Its the end of our trip, but it also means we can start planning our next adventure. The best part about going to Vegas is that I’ll actually be 21! So I’ll be able to partake in all the fun Vegas has to offer… don’t worry I… we won’t go too wild as we do have to get home the next day.

Accidents Happen

Hey all!

This post unfortunately won't be a very happy one. Last month I was riding my motorcycle and hit a car changing lanes. Fortunately the bike and I were relatively okay! My bike sustained mostly cosmetic damage and I only needed to replace the foot pegs, mirrors and levers. I, however, got a little more beat up. I got some good road rash of course which is all healed now, but I also did something to my left knee. I'm currently in the process of getting my health insurance back so I don't know exactly what's wrong but I'm pretty certain I tore something. The good news is that it doesn't really hurt unless I move it a certain way or if I'm on my feet for too long. Although it's not really getting any better, at least it's not getting worse.
I'm also not taking any classes this semester so I won't be getting the GI Bill that I have been using to fund everything. I'm currently looking for a full time job to pay the bills and hopefully have enough money to keep saving up for the trip. I hope these circumstances don't put me too far behind in saving up for our awesome road trip!

Kaaammllooooops

Kamloops is our last scheduled stop in Canada, which I picked just by looking at a map and noticing it’s funny name. Upon further investigation, it actually happens to be a pretty cool place. They have a winter tubing park and snowshoeing for very reasonable prices. They also seem to have a number of festivals and other fun things to do around the town.

Last Stop Alaska!

Our last major stop in Alaska will be Fairbanks. After this is our journey back home, Phoenix. This is also where the most exciting parts of the trip happen. We’ll be going to visit some hot springs (yes swimming in the middle of winter, been there done that, yes in Iceland), and hopefully see the Northern Lights. This time I’ll be sure to have my tripod. Fairbanks is also one of the places we’ve decided to stay 2 days at, instead of 1. This is due to how much weve got planned for in/around/near Fairbanks.

Parks on Parks on Parks

Merry Christmas!

Denali National Park will be a major sight seeing stop. There’s tons of tours including flight-seeing of Mt. Mckinley and hanging out with sled dogs. Unfortunately there aren’t a whole lot of lodging options. There’s either camping in the car which is cold, or paying a lot of money for a bed and breakfast.
